Phoebe was definitely a once in a lifetime bitch, a grand lady at
all times who kept peace and order with all the girls here. She was probably my favorite Dalmatian
female ever.
A multi-Group and Specialty winner, Phoebe won Best of Breed at the Dalmatian Club of Canada National Specialty in 1985. The highlight of that win was that it was the largest Canadian Specialty ever, held in Windsor, Ontario. Yet that year (1985) at the Dalmatian Club of America Specialty show in Detroit, her son Chum went Best Senior in Futurity. The following day at the Detroit Specialty, "Chum", BIS BISS Am/Can Ch Alfredrich Handsome Tall'N Dark won Best in Sweepstakes and Winners Dog, Best of Winners AND BEST OF OPPOSITE SEX over all the Specials! AND Phoebe takes Best Brood Bitch with "Chum" and "Minnie", Ch Alfredrich Happy Hour! After that day Chum's career, supported with the many accomplishments of his Dam, was launched for good. Needless to say that Chum's Sire was the very popular BISS Ch Count Miguel of Tuckaway. Phoebe had other fabulous wins like BOB and Best In Group at the famous Metropolitan Kennel Club which was then the equivalent of Westiminster here in Canada. She was also Best Opposite Sex at one of the first New York specialties. Phoebe and her half sister Ch Alfredrich Fantastica, "Picotine", were the two most influencial bitches in the Alfredrich breeding program. |
